Karlovy Vary Portal in 3D Diorama Style: Original Illustrations, 33 Languages, and RTL

I've been wanting to realize this idea for a long time: a visual style for a three-dimensional diorama, like a pop-up book, on a sunny day. This style is currently very popular among young and active audiences under 35. The project is complete.

Visual concept

The main screen is designed like hand-drawn illustrations: Karlovy Vary's landmarks and springs surround a blue globe, while white clouds float across a bright yellow sky. Curved text, rotating around the central composition, adds a dynamic touch.

Interface and fonts

The interface around the illustration is deliberately minimalist: a single row of centered navigation links in small caps in Arial and an accent heading font in Changa One. Nothing superfluous—the illustration is the main focus.

Multilingualism

The website offers 33 languages, including Arabic and Hebrew. When selected, the interface automatically adapts to right-to-left (RTL) reading, eliminating the need for a separate website version.

Functionality and integrations

This is an information portal for the tourist area, so the focus is on up-to-date information: current times and weather forecasts, an event calendar with listings, routes, answers to frequently asked questions from tourists, and the Longevity program for those visiting Karlovy Vary for their health. The portal served as the basis for a GEO case study on how a hotel was recommended by ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity—a separate article about that.
