A typographic manifesto made from a concrete slab. A black and white press kit where the oversized Helvetica font mimics a photograph, and the only texture is a single sheet of crumpled paper beneath the main typeface.
Bigpicture uses a monochrome editing system that treats the webpage like a printed press kit laid out on raw paper. The interface is completely devoid of chromatic colors, relying solely on black ink, white space, thin lines, and a uniform texture of crumpled paper to create atmosphere. Typography is product: headings reach 274px in Helvetica Neue 700 with aggressive negative letter spacing, making text the dominant visual mass on every screen. Monospaced captions ([01-N INTRODUCTION], CREATIVE/AGENCY) act as print-style signatures, and four-pointed shiny icons serve as the only decoration between sections. The layout is generous and reminiscent of self-publishing—72px gaps between sections, 144-250px horizontal margins, and full-width image blocks with 288px corners allow the page to breathe like a gallery wall rather than a piece of software.
The maximum width is ~1440px, centered with a horizontal padding of 40–144px depending on section density. The hero image is a full-width image with overlaying text. Below the image, content alternates between centered text blocks and edge-to-edge typography. The bottom 60% of the page is a long, scrolling manifesto, with large type filling the entire viewport width line by line, separated by rows of glossy dividers. The navigation is a floating bar centered at the top of the viewport, rather than a full-width panel. The footer is a single strip with a thin border.
Photography dominates the main screen—large architectural and outdoor advertising images (billboards, building cladding, street-level advertising) presented full-size with rounded corners. A crumpled paper texture is overlaid on the lower sections of the page, creating a tactile feel and giving the interface the look of a printed magazine. A small globe icon, drawn with lines, is the only illustrative element. No 3D effects, no abstract gradients, no product mockups—the images are documentary, industrial in nature, and based on the agency's outdoor advertising portfolio.
