MCP is an open protocol that allows AI chats to connect to external tools. You connect your website to Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini and manage it directly from the chat: catalog, products, orders, design, pages, posts, and statistics.

## Steps

### Step 1. Click "Connect"

Settings → AI and MCP → "Connect Claude" (or ChatGPT, Gemini). A key with full access to this site will be generated, and the connection link will be copied to the clipboard. A window will open with steps for the selected platform.

### Step 2. Paste the link into the assistant

- **Claude (claude.ai)**: Settings → Connectors → “Add custom connector” → paste the link → save.
- **Claude Code (terminal)**: run the command from the window - the connection will appear immediately.
- **ChatGPT**: Developer mode / MCP apps → add server → paste link.
- **Gemini (gemini.google.com)**: Settings → Connected Apps → Add a custom app → paste the link. For Gemini CLI, use the command from the window.

### Step 3. Check it out

Write the first message to the assistant from the connection window, for example: "You're connected to my site. Show me what you can change." The assistant will invoke the tool and respond with a list of options.

## Keys and rights

- Each connection requires a separate key. If you need another assistant or another device, press the button again.
- The key is shown once when created. The connection link contains the key; do not publish it.
- A key can be created manually with limited rights: read-only or read-write by groups—catalog, products, orders, settings, design, posts, statistics.
- Any key can be revoked in the "Connection Keys" list. The Assistant will immediately lose access.

## What can a connected assistant do?

The same tools as the built-in assistant: categories and products (creation, editing, import, photo via link), orders and statuses, all site settings, interface texts, design (colors, fonts, header, custom CSS, style from a reference or screenshot), homepage structure and pages from blocks, posts, and statistics. A catalog of tooltips with ready-made commands is built into the connection.

Unavailable: tariff, website address and domain, payment and bot keys, data deletion.

## Your Gemini Key

For the built-in assistant and AI features (auto-categorization, AI moderation, AI text, and photos), you can connect your Google Gemini key from Google AI Studio. There is no transaction limit with your own key. Your own key is required on the Enterprise plan. The key is stored encrypted.

## Knowledge base for AI

The "Knowledge Base for AI" block exports your products with real links in Markdown or JSON. Upload the file to Gemini Gem, NotebookLM, or another assistant—it will respond to customers based on your catalog. A ready-made system prompt is available nearby.

## Questions and answers

### Is this safe?

The key is valid only for one website and only with the assigned permissions. The assistant cannot delete data, change the plan, or change the domain. The key can be revoked at any time.

### Do I need a paid AI account?

MCP connection is available on the site's paid plans. Your account on Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini is yours; their terms and limits are subject to these services.

### Is it possible to connect multiple sites?

Yes. A key is generated for each website separately. Switch the website in your account and click "Connect" again.
